The Marvelification of Disney – Aladdin

I done more! And this one makes even less sense!

Agrabah Inc is a very influential company, but the head is a very old fashioned man. He was growing old and he needed a successor, but before his wife died she had provided him with only a daughter, a rebellious girl who had grown too used to the western ways and had foolish dreams of marrying someone of her own choosing who would not be able to take care of her. She wanted to choose and so he gave her a choice, one of three men whose companies he would be purchasing. She could chose from those men.

Aladdin was a young man who grew up a hard life on the streets, a thief with a gentle heart. He prided himself as a Robin Hood, stealing from those who scorned the poor and giving it back to the people who needed it most. He was quick and agile with his years, but it wasn’t until one grateful recipient of his brand of justice that he received a strange lamp. He thought nothing of it until it was stolen from him.

He chased after it, but someone else got their first. It was one of the heroes that were roaming the streets these days, a woman in a metal suit. He wanted to know who she was, demanding her name or a look at her face. She laughed and left, but he was hooked. So was she.

He wasn’t sure what to do and absently polished off the lamp, releasing a genie who would grant three wishes so long as they weren’t for death or love. Aladdin was quick with his first, wanting to know who that woman was and how to get her. The second was for everything necessary to attain the woman.

The genie stayed by his side to watch over him as he weaselled his way into the running for one of the men Jasmine was required to marry. From nowhere, and despite having never touched a computer in his life, Aladdin managed to build an online empire overnight and offered to partner with Agrabah Inc to help update their image. Jasmine recognized the boy and, after months of delaying her decision, chose him out of the other men. Her father was pleased.

Aladdin, in turn, was sure to not forget where he had come from. Jasmine, as it turned out, was quite good with technology and had built her own hero suit. She built a second one for Aladdin so that he could be more effective at helping them, but he was busy learning to run the company.

Jasmine was the hero in the family. Her father had always been busy with work, so she had been forgotten and free to find her own way to make her mark. When her father ignored her prowess, she decided on a more hands on approach, forgetting about her father.

Now, Aladdin joins her as her side kick, usually busy learning from her father. Meanwhile, jasmine continues to keep the city safe, though her attentions have shifted since Aladdin became a part of the company. He has many old enemies that she’s often had to keep away. She’s also had to worry about those coming after her father as well over the years, those men now gunning for his successor.

Sidenote: This actually started as an Aladdin as Spiderman premise and went… elsewhere.
