Friday, September 25th, 2009

This site is getting such a revamp next month.

Get something published.
REJECTION LETTERS! Where the heck are they?

Win Nanowrimo.
Coming up with the list now.

Write 10 short stories.
Ugh, I fail.

Revise Scions.
Still fail.

Progress Report #16

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I’m starting on a list for next year. Is that bad? It’s bad, isn’t it?

Get something published.
I got a rejection letter! Dammit, where are the rest of those things?

Win Nanowrimo.
Nope.

Write 10 short stories.
I know which ones to write! Plot, write, edit. Plot, write edit. I CAN DO THIS.

Complete editing a novel.
IT’S DONE! Still needs another two or three passes before I show anyone, but it’s DONE!

Revise Scions.
Redid the Bible so there’s an abridged version. Got most of it in my head now, so it’s all a matter of getting it down on paper and adjusting the scope down to probably just the bible and not the individual pitches.

Progress Report #15

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

I remembered!

Get something published.
Come on, rejection letters!

Win Nanowrimo.
Nope.

Write 10 short stories.
Got one in my head, just needs some concrete plot now before writing.

Complete editing a novel.
I’m at chapter 7 of 19! This is so much better than Dreamscape.

Revise Scions.
I’m working on it, but lack the inspiration. Apparently the artist would like to redo the images, though, so I’ll be working on that. soon. As in now. Sort of. BAH!

Update Genetically Impaired weekly for 6 months.
Done!

Progress Report #13 & 14

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

Yeah, totally forgetting to do these lately.

Get something published.
Put on hold, oddly enough, while I work out what I’m going to do with Wipe. But that’s a whole different and very long ramble.

Win Nanowrimo.
Nope.

Write 10 short stories.
I have now completed six with plans to get more out soon.

Complete editing a novel.
I have switched over to SoD for my novel edit. It’s going a hell of a lot better. Almost done Chapter 3! Of 19.

Revise Scions.
I’m bringing it back up this month. Starting tomorrow, it’s back on the schedule.

Update Genetically Impaired weekly for 6 months.
It’s actually going to happen a little later this month and I’m still writing updates for it. An hour a week. I am doing good.

And here’s hoping I remember to keep this a little better updated.

Progress Report #11 & 12

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Forgot to do one earlier, so a merged report! Also, something.

Get something published.
Sent off another 4 manuscripts. I really like paper better than electronic.

Win Nanowrimo.
Nope.

Write 10 short stories.
Working on the fourth.

Complete editing a novel.
Must resructure chapter two, possibly merge it with chapter three and GOD why does this first draft suck so bad?!

Revise Scions.
Put it away for a while, but I’m going to pick it up again tomorrow. I hope I’m a little more inspired.

Update Genetically Impaired weekly for 6 months.
I have all of the updates ready, loaded and done until August 14th rolls around. I’m going to keep updating it too, though now I’ll cut down to an hour a week working on it. Er, maybe I’ll explain the scheduling habit I’ve developed. In the mean time, showing off what I got!

Nice little set with a book, some chocolate, HMV gift card and stuff from Etsy. I’m a girl sometimes.

Progress Report #10

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

I’m going to need to rework how I’m getting these things done because the way I’m doing it now is wiping me out.

Get something published.
Slowly, slowly, slowly.

Win Nanowrimo.
Nope.

Write 10 short stories.
Just started another one today. So, finally.

Complete editing a novel.
I need to completely rewrite it. Not because it’s terrible. Well, yes because the first draft is terrible, but also because the first draft seems to have been mostly deleted except for the first page. So without it to fall back on, a rewrite based on my paperback copy of the first draft.

Revise Scions.
Outlines. Dammit, a novel series is hard when you have timelines to work with and events and other weird things that you need to work in there and researching things and… well, it’s not going so good as of novel #3 in the series.

Update Genetically Impaired weekly for 6 months.
I has my buffer back. Now to keep it.

Progress Report #9

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

This new years resolution stuff is seriously starting to impact on my sleep. And I don’t seem to be getting as much done as quickly as I’d hoped.

Get something published.
Where are my rejection letters? I’ve barely gotten any back! Are they telling each other to just ignore me? Only the Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction has sent me anything back so far. And I think they’re getting sick of me because this is the third one they’ve rejected.

Win Nanowrimo.
Nope.

Write 10 short stories.
So much failing.

Complete editing a novel.
I have stripped down chapter 1. And now, I need to put all of the explanation back in it because it makes absolutely no sense without explaining some of it. Although I have started to rename the characters and have decided to strip out Sue Island. That can be a little promotional bit of information. You know, if I ever get it published.

Also, dammit this is taking forever.

Revise Scions.
Working on the novel outlines now. I think it’s going to end up being a trilogy. But for the moment, I need to look up redcaps again as well as make sure I point out how ridiculous fire is as an element. It’s a bloody chemical reaction, which Gavin is certainly going to point out and be an irritating know it all about until it saves his ass.

Update Genetically Impaired weekly for 6 months.
My buffer! I am losing my buffer! I need to rebuild it now!

Progress Report #8

Friday, May 1st, 2009

I’m starting to think I’m insane for trying to keep up with all of these. A year’s a long time, but it’s a lot shorter when you have to work, dammit. And volunteer. And do something stupid like try to organize a mini-production of your script. Dammit.

Get something published.
Even more rejection letters. But dammit, I like getting them. It’s almost going to be disappointing when I actually get an acceptance one. On the bright side, I already sent off the April stories less one. One I’m keeping with me to submit to someone else who will send me back paper rejection.

Win Script Frenzy.
Done! I’m even going to be putting it into production! More on this when thing actually get moving. Maybe. Baha.

Oh, and I got to open one of my little prize packs.

Win Nanowrimo.
Nope.

Write 10 short stories.
This is going back into play next month. I think I’m going to join a challenge to write a short a month for the rest of the year.

Complete editing a novel.
Plans being made and will be going into effect starting next week. Editing at the rate of a chapter a week means it should be done around August. Unless I go off the schedule.

Revise Scions.
I keep forgetting about this one. I think next month, I plot out the novel series. Like, the whole novel series. Give it a nice solid foundation, work out some of the intricacies and then build to the series the month after.

Update Genetically Impaired weekly for 6 months.
I’m going to run out of buffer in a month. Time to get back to writing that one.

Progress Report #7

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Script Frenzy is going to keep this a short post.

Get something published.
More rejection! Which is getting a rant in the future after the whole Script Frenzy thing happens. Email rejection letters… going to have to wait for it.

Win Script Frenzy.
This is going to warrant a rant when it’s all done and over with. But it’s going relatively well.

Win Nanowrimo.
Nope

Write 10 short stories.
Nadda.

Complete editing a novel.
Zip.

Revise Scions.
Zilch.

Update Genetically Impaired weekly for 6 months.
Still happening! I think. I should check that.

Progress Report #6

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Just a quick update this time around. Script Frenzy is this month, after all.

Get something published.
Another rejection letter! And OnSpec told me why! Because it seems like it’s part of a larger work. That’s the first peice of critisism I’ve gotten. SO HAPPY!

Oh, and I sent off 7 manuscripts for March. So I only have to worry about one this month if I get to it.

Win Script Frenzy.
Happening. 8 pages in.

Win Nanowrimo.
Nothing.

Write 10 short stories.
